The directorate is responsible for the security of examination documents and Board’s assets.

The directorate has three sections:

i. Examination Security 

ii. Certification Processing  

iii. General Security  

 

 Functions 

 

 The functions of the directorate are: 

i) provision of examination security services  during  item development, moderation typesetting, printing e.t.c,

ii) processing and authentication of certificates bearing our logo,

iii) provision of general security service and;

iv) inspecting and recommending  approval of institutions that qualify to be examination center.

 

Requirements for an institution to become an examination centre

The institution must:

a) apply to The Executive Director, Malawi National Examinations Board, P.O. Box 191, Zomba

b) send a copy of application for centre inspection to the District Education Manager's (DEM's) Office

c) have a Ministry of Education Registration Certificate

d) possess a storage room with strong lockable metal cabinet (s) and burglar bars on windows

e) have a double locking system with a mortise lock and night latch

f) possess adequate number of desks for every candidate

g) have examination documents such as syllabus, copy of MANEB's regulations on administration of examinations

h) have durable infrastructure built of burnt/ cement bricks and strong roof made of iron sheets

i) have  its infrastructure in the shape of a school

j) have enough qualified teachers

k) pay   Examination Centre Inspection Fees of MK100,000.00 per level of Examination, in advance to MANEB's  National Bank  of Malawi  account, account No: 1123688 - Zomba Branch

l) send the deposit slip together with the Ministry of Education Registration Certificate to MANEB, P.O. Box 191, Zomba or fax the documents to 01525351 or email to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

 

Note:  Centre inspection fees is non-refundable and is subject to revision from year to year
