Government closed education institutions on 23rd March 2020 due to the Covid-19 pandemic ,consequently, MANEB suspended examinations timetables.  On 27th August 2020 the Minister of Education, Honourable Agnes Nyalonje  announced that the schools are  reopening on 7th September 2020 and that the Ministry had adopted a phased  approach to the reopening  with priority given to examination classes as follows:

  • Standard 8
  • Form 4
  •  Initial Primary Teacher Education ( IPTE) 15 cohort to complete  examination registration processes
  • Final year students at college, universities and examination classes for all schools that offer international curriculum

Following the Honourable Minister’s announcement, MANEB has released new timetables for Primary School Leaving Certificate of Education (PSLCE), Malawi School Certificate of Education (MSCE) and Primary Teacher Certificate Education (PTCE) examinations.

  • PSLCE examinations will be administered from 30th September to 2nd  October, 2020
  • MSCE examination will run from 27th October to 20th November, 2020
  • PTCE examinations will be administered from 1st to 4th December, 2020

The honourable minister also announced measures that are being undertaken in preparation for the reopening of school among which are covid-19 preventives measures. The same measure that the Ministry is putting in place will be apply to national examinations.
