The Malawi National Examinations Board (MANEB) has today, 5th August 2019, released results of the 2019 Primary School Leaving Certificate Examination (PSLCE). Announcement of the results has been done by the Honourable Minister of Education, Science and Technology, Dr. William Susuwele Banda during a press briefing at the Central Office of Information in Blantyre.
In his statement, the Honourable Minister has applauded MANEB and Ministry of Education officials for the timely release of the examination results, a development which will help selected candidates report to their various schools in time.
The Honourable Minister has also commended MANEB for taking a step further in their analysis of results by ranking districts, schools and candidates according to their performance using qualitative and quantitative aspects. According to him, this will facilitate the implementation of appropriate interventions to uplift teaching and learning standards in primary schools.
The Honourable Minister has, however, bemoaned the rate of candidates’ absenteeism during the examination and, therefore, called upon stakeholders to join hands in addressing this problem.
The Honourable Minister has informed the press that all candidates wishing to query their results should do so in writing through their heads of schools where they registered for the examination and that all queries should reach MANEB by 9th September 2019. Those selected to start Form 1 should report to their respective secondary schools by 16th September 2019.
