CHIUNDA HEADS MANEB

The Malawi National Examinations Board (MANEB) has appointed Gerald Axel Chiunda  as its Executive Director. 

In a Press Release issued on 1st September, 2017 and signed by MANEB Board Chairperson, Professor John D. K. Saka, the appointment is with effect from 18th August, 2017.

"Mr Chiunda brings to the Board a combined work experience of 19 years in examinations and assessment; and international exposure at the UNESCO Headquarters, Paris where he served as a Technical Manager for an assessment programme covering 15 countries in East and Southern Africa. 

"Mr Chiunda has been Director of Research and Test Development since 2009," reads the press release in part.

Saka says the Board of Directors congratulates Chiunda on the appointment and wishes him all the success in this tour of duty.

 

Chiunda has succeeded Dr Augustine Gundula who headed the institution from 2014 to 2015. Former Deputy Director, Jack Stephen Chalimba, had been working as Acting Executive Director during period that the office was vacant.
